Jan Vinita White, PhD, is a gerontologist and life transition coach, providing a broad range of consulting services related to aging.

Dr. Jan has over 30 years of corporate experience with the last 18 in private practice. Her professional affiliations include the American Society on Aging, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, National Council on Aging, and Phi Kappa Phi. She serves on the editorial board of three international scholarly journals.

Dr. Jan earned her doctoral degree in Human Services/Gerontology and Life Sciences. To supplement her knowledge, Dr. Jan has attended workshops and advanced courses at the Harvard School of Aging Studies in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. White is MoCA certified and has been trained to administer and score the Montreal Cognitive Assessment tools including virtual testing.  Dr. Jan earned the accredited certification as a Certified Senior Advisor. She also earned an Intergenerational Certification from the University of Pittsburgh. In May 2017, Dr. Jan added to her professional "toolbox" by earning a certificate in Contemporary Issues in Geriatric Mental Health from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. 

Dr. White recently retired as a part-time professor, dissertation adviser, researcher, subject matter expert, and curriculum specialist.  To further promote healthy aging and demystify gerontology, she has been presenting aging topics on live television for 16 years. Her weekly segments on local television have grown in popularity and scope. She has a worldwide educational blog audience.
